About Kate Briscoe
Kate Briscoe is a nature painter from Wales whose work is rooted in the natural environment of West Wales. Now retired from painting, she spent many years capturing the essence of the Welsh landscape through art.
"I paint what fascinates me visually from nature. My paintings try to capture the excitement and beauty of rocks, water, trees, and landscapes, with particular focus on the colours, textures, and forms found in West Wales."
Born and raised on a farm in rural Suffolk - East Anglia, Kate developed a connection to nature from an early age. After studying medicine in Cambridge, she settled down and started a family near Llandovery - West Wales, where she worked as a part-time GP.
Kate's painting started as a hobby which grew quickly after she moved to Rhandirmwyn in the Cambrian Mountains. Here she had an unlimited supply of beautiful landscapes, animals, forests and nature to paint.
